The Registration for the September GP Circuit events for 2026 is now open
September will be a quiet month with many focusing on the upcoming World Chess Olympiad hosted by the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan from the 15th to the 28th of September 2026.
With many of National events are almost done and dusted – with one major event after the conlusion of the Open Rapid Team, the international glitter and glamor will still continue as Malaysia will be hosting two(2) major events which are the Commonwealth Schools event in October, and the World Amateur event the month after/November. With National Rapid and Blitz Championship already concluded after Perlis hosted the event in tandem with the Malaysian Amateur earlier this month, only one major national event is left to play – the Interstate Team event, and once that is done, the national calendar for 2026 should come to a close.
The GP Circuit event for the month of September is scheduled for the 26th and 27th of September 2026. Closing is set at 12:00 noon on the 24th of September, or once the number of players hits the magic number of 48.
This is a SILVER GP CIRCUIT EVENT with 300 GP Points up for grabs. The total prize fund is RM1,500 to be awarded to the top 5 players, with additional prizes for 5 category winners: Women, Veteran, U1800, Unrated, and OKU (Terms and Conditions apply)
