The Registration for the August GP Circuit events for 2026 is now open
August will be a busy month for chess with SUKMA being held in Selangor, and the annual Malaysia Chess Festival to be hosted by KL Gateway Mall towards the end of the month. Amateur players can also look forward to playing in the Malaysian Amateur Chess Championship, followed by the National Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship – both events hosted by Perlis as the state embarks on its initiative to get more players to visit the northernmost state.
The GP Circuit event for the month of August is scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of August 2026. Closing is set at 12:00 noon on the 21st of August, or once the number of players hits the magic number of 48.
The August monthly event is a SILVER GP CIRCUIT EVENT with 300 GP Points up for grabs. The total prize fund is RM1,500 to be awarded to the top 5 players, with additional prizes for 5 category winners: Women, Veteran, U1800, Unrated, and OKU (Terms and Conditions apply)
